Infertility Counseling

Seeking the help of a mental health professional trained in and familiar with reproductive health issues like Dr. Lager can be useful while you’re considering or pursuing infertility treatment. Treatment can assist you in figuring out how to balance the demands of infertility treatments with the other aspects of life. Common challenges include determining who to tell about your struggles, when/ how much to tell, dealing with friends and family who are not having infertility issues (and maybe say unintentionally insensitive things). Dr. Lager can support you and your spouse/partner in sorting out how to communicate through the new, unfamiliar territory that infertility introduces into your relationship. She can also assist with the difficult and often confusing process of choosing what treatments to pursue and how long you’re willing and able to pursue them.

Dr. Lager works with several of the fertility clinics in the Northern Virginia area, providing support to individuals and couples who are trying to conceive a child and struggling with the emotional impacts of infertility.
