



Dr. Lager completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology in Atlanta at Emory
University. After earning her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the Graduate School of
Applied and Professional Psychology at Rutgers University in 1997, Dr. Lager moved to
Washington, D.C. She began working in Emergency Services for the Fairfax County
Community Services Board and simultaneously began building a private practice. Dr.
Lager later transitioned to providing outpatient mental health services for the Community
Services Board, and in 2003, devoted herself full-time to serving clients in private practice.
Dr. Lager understands that choosing a therapist is an extremely personal decision, and
that therapy involves a serious commitment of your time, money, and emotions. It is
important that you feel comfortable not only with your therapist's credentials and treatment
approach, but also with the person as a whole. For many clients, Dr. Lager's warm and
open style, intuitive nature, sense of humor, and strong commitment to her work make her
an ideal choice.
Dr. Lager has dedicated her career to Clinical Psychology for many reasons. The
relationships developed with clients are continually rewarding, as is assisting clients to
improve problems, strengthen relationships, and live happier and healthier lives.
Dr. Lager is licensed by the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Clinical Psychologist. She is a
member of the Virginia Psychological Association and the Northern Virginia Society of
Clinical Psychologists. She is committed to providing the highest standard of care, and is
an ongoing participant in continuing education programs.
